We can’t speak for all dreadlocks all around the world, but assuming you are following our recommendations then of course your dreads won’t be dirty or smelly. Clean, residue-free hair knots and dreads MUCH better than dirty hair, so if your dreads ARE dirty or smelly, you’re doing it the wrong way! It does bear mentioning, though that over time, your dreadlocks WILL acquire a natural scent (just like we all have our own natural scent), but it’s not a BAD smell, just unique to you!
